What a fantastic response from our brilliant community over the last couple of weeks.
We had put shouts out for help by way of specific volunteers and of material goods and we weren’t disappointed with the results.
We had people stepping up to help distribute our new leaflets – going door to door around the streets of Pewsey. It is such a help and it’s important to get our message out there to people who don’t use social media outlets.
We asked for more Buddy Crew volunteers and have signed up four new members which is fabulous as we now have a reserve team ready to offer a friendly chat on the end of the phone to those who should need it.
On the back of this we’ve also had new volunteers sign up for our Friendship Cafe and Community Market which is a wonderful place to volunteer – meeting others in our community and getting fresh fruit and vegetables in quantities you require and as it’s donations based they’re at prices you can afford.
We needed gas bottles and gas – and again you’ve come up trumps gifting us with surplus bottles and monetary donations to fill them up. And also advice on how to save money filling them up!
We’ve had a gas safety engineer offering his time, skills and equipment to safely install our gas products in our double decker so we truly take our hats off to you all.
We always welcome new volunteers throughout all of our services and are still hoping to get some more specifically to join our cooking team. If you can cook and can spare some time cooking at home for around 30 people we would love to hear from you. Ideally we want enough cooks so that you are only cooking once every 6 weeks – it could be more depending on availability.
If you think you can help please get in touch via our website Contact Us – Positive Community Action (ourpca.uk). Or, you can phone on 01672 487022.
We couldn’t do all we do without the help and support of you all, so from all of us here and on behalf of our patrons we sincerely thank you.
