New Year, Volunteer?

It’s been quite a busy start to the new year with over 105 trays of food stopped from going to landfill through our Positive Foodshare scheme and over 70 meals cooked and delivered throughout our community.

We’ve helped feed 20 people with our BURP (Basic Universal Resource Plan) initiative and had over 100 attendees to our Friendship Cafe.

This keeps our dedicated volunteers busy and so we are always looking for extra pairs of hands.

Currently we would love more cooks. This is quite an involved role where planning and cooking skills are essential, and successful candidates must pass an online Food Hygiene Safety Level 2 Certificate (which we provide). It is a well appreciated service throughout our community and our cooks do say they get a level of satisfaction and achievement. If you feel you can help with this then please do get in touch, we would love to hear from you.

If cooking isn’t your thing then we do always welcome more volunteers in all departments, including wanting a whole team to manage and run a Community Market.

This was a donations based scheme offering fresh fruit and veg during our Friendship Cafe session. We would really like to revive this to run alongside our Foodshare on a Saturday morning.

Apart from cooking, our services operate on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings between 9-1 so if you can spare some time to help your local community and get to meet some amazing people then please get in touch.

We are a fully volunteer led grass roots organisation so your support is gladly accepted. We hope to hear from you soon.
