Lovely To Meet You…

We had a wonderful visit from our supporters at PCA on Friday 26th May

.
One of our main funders this year, ‘The Princes Countryside Fund’ came to see our work at Wesley Hall on Friday 26th May and they brought along their sponsors, Waitrose (The John Lewis Partnership) and their sister organisation Prince of Wales Community Fund.

We were delighted to show them what we do and how their funding is making a difference in our community.

Our founder Phil Brady explained our services and answered their questions.

Volunteers shared their experiences and explained how our Community Meals, Foodshare and BURP (Basic Universal Resource Plan) worked. Other directors Joan Barnett and Siobhan Boyle also talked about the impact and benefits of PCA in our community.

We wanted to have our bus at this meeting as they were interested in our plans to reach out to more people in this rural area but some technical issues and an MOT delayed its first trip. We will update you on our progress soon. We are eager to get on the road and we are very grateful for the help of volunteers and professionals who are helping to make this possible.

Since this visit, The Princes Countryside Fund have increased their grant to help us cover the rising insurance costs for our bus.

Our vision for PCA is “Fighting hunger and Isolation in Wiltshire”, so meeting other people who also care about community really motivates us. Connecting with our local Waitrose and other organisations such as ‘Arts Together’ (whom we also met) could help us achieve our goals.

Volunteers are the backbone of our business. They contribute their time, skills and passion to help us achieve our goals. We value their dedication and commitment and we would not be able to deliver our products and services to our community without them.

However, we need more volunteers to help with Foodshare, Cooking, Pop up Friendship Cafes and Community Markets.
We also need drivers with HGV licences who can drive our double decker bus to nearby villages.

We also need a permanent home where we can park our bus overnight.

Are you up for the journey?
