Getting Cash in Isolation

Anouncements

We’d just like to start by thanking everyone for their lovely messages yesterday, we’re so happy the cakes went down well, and we did another successful delivery of home cooked steak and mushroom casserole’s today. Thanks everyone involved.

This week we have been asked by some of our lovely VIPs (shielded residents) how they could access cash when they can’t get to a cash machine or a bank.

It just so happens that the Post Office and several banks will deliver cash if you contact them.

Here is how it works with the Post Office and your pension.

To use the service, you must be a Post Office Card Account holder. If your request is approved, you can receive up to £2,500 and the payment will be delivered to you via the Royal Mail Special Delivery service by 9pm the following day.

The number to ring is Department of Work and Pensions on 0800 731 0469

Post Office account customers can also set up a ‘permanent agent’, which allows a third-party to access your account for you. This process has been overhauled so that setting up a permanent agent can be completed over the phone instead of requiring you to go to a branch.

The helpline for this is 0345 722 3344

If you receive your money into another bank account you should contact your bank, building society or credit union to see how they can help.

There are lots of things which are changing fast in relation to challenges like MOTs, gym subscriptions, school meals, etc. The website below has produced a guide to all those random issues that are not easy to find answers to.
