Winter Warmers…

Announcements Community PCA News

We’ve seen a couple of storms roar through Wiltshire in the last few weeks, causing damage and disruption throughout the community.

We’re glad to report that our services have been largely unaffected with good, nourishing meals being delivered and Friendship Cafe’s being open. Foodshare has been offered where surplus food has been available and BURP packs have been made up to help those struggling to put food on the table.

Our volunteers go above and beyond to make sure those more vulnerable are looked after as best as we can and have been out in all weathers to ensure this happens.

The Community Meals are delivered to the more vulnerable in our community, and the last few weeks have seen hearty, warming meals such as beef casserole, chicken and mushroom stroganoff, sausage and potato hot pot and butternut squash risotto. These have been served with desserts which would cheer up any taste buds: treacle sponge and custard, chocolate sponge and sauce, rice pudding and jam, blackberry and apple crumble and lots more besides.

Our Cooks and Community Meals Team work hard to cook and deliver such varied and colourful menus each week and we know the recipients are ever grateful. If you think you could benefit from a home cooked meal once a week then please get in touch https://ourpca.uk/get-help/

If you can get out and about the Friendship Cafe is a great place to come for a chat, a hot drink and a bit of cake and our volunteers welcome everybody with a smile and a bit (a lot!) of banter.

They are having their annual Christmas party next week (14th) with festive themes, vibes and jibes, so come and join in the fun. It is usual opening times from 9.30- 12 at Wesley Hall, Pewsey.
