It’s been a year since the Coronavirus lockdown was first implemented. What a tough time for many, many people, and it still remains tough for so many of us today, as restrictions are still in place and will continue to be so in various forms over the forseeable future.
However, our community has shown great resilience and creativity in coming together to make this last year as bearable as can be, with joy, love, laughter and hope spread throughout our village.
PCCA was formed just before lockdown started and over 300 volunteers have enlisted throughout this time to help with shopping, prescriptions, deliveries, cooking, library, telephones, chats, signposting, dog walking, food co-ordination, marshalling, leafleting, cafe, market, day to day enquiries and so much more. Indeed, most of this is still happening a year on. What a remarkable achievement. All of our volunteers have really stepped up to the mark.
And we’ve had generous donations from our local businesses and from personal members of our neighbourhood which have really helped make all these things possible. Thank you so much.
We are continuing to provide support to the people of Pewsey and have been introducing our Creative Communities as a way of keeping people’s mental health and social connection uplifted.
There may be tough times in the coming months as Covid impacts on jobs and health, so please be re-assured that we are here to help. If you need help please register at ourpca.uk or phone us Mon-Sat between 9-1 on 01672 487022.
Stay safe, and together we can get through this x.
