Everything is speeding ahead for PCA, and we’re thrilled to share the latest from our bustling community projects!
A Fresh Chapter in Foodshare
Our alliances with Marlborough supermarkets like Tesco and Waitrose, along with ongoing contributions from Pewsey Co-op, have fuelled an incredible month for our Foodshare initiative. In May alone, we rescued 66 trays of food from ending up in landfill. From delicious bakery treats and vibrant fruits and vegetables to charming bouquets and plants, every donation has brightened someone’s day. Foodshare is our way of stopping good food from going to waste, and we welcome everyone to join us at Wesley Hall, Pewsey – every Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning (10-11 AM) when surplus food is available. The influx of new volunteers over the past couple of months has infused our projects with even more energy and dedication!
Revving Up the Bus Renovations
Our bus transformation is well underway. A huge shoutout to Jon from Serrina Interiors, who has been almost singlehandedly upholstering bespoke seats for the upstairs seating area. Teamwork is in full swing, as Debbie, one of our dedicated Foodshare volunteers, has eagerly pitched in to bring Jon’s craftsmanship to life. Adding a dash more community spirit, the folks at Pewsey Hand Car Wash gave the bus a sparkling clean – now it’s ready for its vinyl makeover that will soon add a pop of personality.
Calling All Skilled Hands!
We’re now at a crucial stage—and we need your expertise to move forward:
- Solar Panel Installation: We’re looking for electricians and metal fabricators to fit and install our brand-new solar panels on the bus roof. These panels are key to powering our ventures sustainably, letting us have electricity wherever we go in the greenest and most energy-efficient way.
- Interior Insulation & Cladding: The upstairs interior is loaded with materials, just waiting for the right hands to help insulate and clad the space for a cozy finish.
- Plumbing Prowess: If you’re handy with plumbing, our diesel water heater is ready for expert installation.
If your skills lie in any of these areas—or if you know someone who can help—we’d love to hear from you. Every bit of support pushes us closer to our goal of hitting the road and making a lasting impact.
