As the summer rolls on, we’ve been full steam ahead here at PCA, doing what we do best—bringing people together through good food, friendly faces, and practical support. The past couple of months have been busy (and a bit bonkers), but filled with moments that remind us why community action matters so much.

Saving Food, Serving Neighbours
We’ve continued our mission to rescue surplus food from local supermarkets, keeping perfectly good produce from going to waste. Thanks to our volunteers, it’s turned into hearty meals, puddings, and pantry packs—hand-delivered to folks in our area who need a boost.
And those donations from the Pewsey Co-op? They’ve been a lifeline. Non-perishables picked out by shoppers have gone straight into Pantry Packs for households feeling the pressure of rising costs.

Friendship Café: More Than Just Cake
Our pop-up Friendship Café has really found its feet. What started as coffee and cake has grown into a warm, welcoming hangout for those who fancy a laugh, a natter, or just a change of scenery. The banter’s strong, the vibes are even stronger—and everyone’s welcome.
The Big Bus Dream
You might’ve heard about our double-decker renovation—and wow, it’s coming together.
🛠 The upstairs seating is nearly sorted thanks to an ace carpenter and Jon from Serrina Interiors. Volunteer Debbie De Jonge stepped in with upholstery magic, helping us move the project forward.
We’re nearly there, but a few skilled hands could get us over the finish line:
- Solar panels bolted to the roof. We’ve got the solar electrics kit already fitted, we can provide scaffolding, we just need someone to get up there to fit the panels and wire them up
- Insulation and cladding upstairs
- Installation of a diesel-powered water heater
Know someone handy? Please reach out at together@ourpca.uk — we’ll be forever grateful.

Going Mobile: Taking Action Beyond Pewsey
We hear from folks in nearby villages who can’t get to us but really need support. That’s where the bus comes in. Once it’s road-ready, we’ll be driving kindness to their doorsteps—sharing Pantry Packs, surplus food, and a slice of cake in pop-up cafés where people can simply relax and chat.
Want to Get Involved?
We’re always open to new hands and friendly faces. Right now, we’re on the lookout for: Volunteer cooks BURP assessors (don’t worry—we’ll explain!) Qualified bus drivers
If you’ve got a bit of time, some useful skills, or just a big heart, head to ourpca.uk and sign up.
So that’s our summer roundup. Busy? Yep. Worth it? Absolutely. Thanks to everyone who’s supported us so far—we couldn’t do it without you.
Here’s to more kindness, more community, and more cake.
